Chiang Mai Music Scene

Chiang Mai used to have a vibrant and diverse music scene with some notable blues and jazz players and venues where musician tourists would come and jam. Some overzealous immigration officers put the dampers on that by demanding to see work permits for even the most casual jam.

"Por" North Gate Jazz Co-op, Chiang Mai 2007 The playing area was lit by a single 100w light bulb hanging in a metal shade just in front of the drummer and I had no real hope of getting anything out of this venue until they put in a couple of spotlights but three or four shots worked out OK. This at 3200 with White Balance set to tunsgsten. No noise reduction in processing.
